When Is It Celebrated?
About 4000 years ago when Jewish people remember that god saved them from slavery in Egypt.
Jesus was a Jew and so celebrates the Passover. It takes place in the first moth of the Jewish New Year and Jewish calendar follows the cycle of the Moon, so the date changes a bit every year.
Easter is celebrated around the same time of year that he was killed. This is because Jesus died at the time of the Jewish Passover festival.
This is also called “Holy week”, which contains the days of the Easter triduum (period of three days) , including Maundy Thursday ( commemorates the washing of the feet), as well as Good Friday (commemorating crucifixion of Jesus & his death on Calvary) which is also known as Black Friday, great Friday or holy Friday.
In eastern Christianity, the season of Pascha begins on the Pascha and ends with the coming of the 40th day, the Feast of ascension ( rising of Jesus into heaven ).
For Christians, the full Easter period lasted for a long time. Easter officially starts with lent on Ash Wednesday (holy day of prayer and fasting), 46 days before Easter day.
Lent lasts for 40 days but you don’t count the Sundays! Then 39 days after Easter day, Christians celebrate Ascension Day, when they remember Jesus going back into heaven and promising to come back to earth one day..
Easter officially ends 49 days after Easter day with the Christian festival of Pentecost or Whitsun, when Christian remember that god sent his holy spirit to help Christians. This makes Easter is a very busy time for Christians!

As you have read above, it was a rebirth of the Jesus Christ for his disciple, family, and followers.
The Christians after winter, go on fasting period which is called “Husvet” in Hungarian, which means no meat for 40 days until Easter & starting of meat from Easter time, also called lent (German) which means for Christian means abstinence of meat during this time.
So, if we see, this is the time of winter when usually one has to stop meat or heavy digestive food because of poor Agni (digestive fire), and poor digestion.
And as the season changes to spring when there is a change of season and nature, we can start meat again as part of food, after cleaning our body system with a refreshment.
